: ( back home and back to work ... boo!

Spring Break is officially over : ( It was much anticipated and even more appreciated, but I'm sad to see it go (silent tear).

The Bird Kingdom was awesome (and I don't use that word often) and tons of fun. For some of us...Radha, Maya, and I had a ball! Rukmini (and her fear of birds) stayed right in the lobby. My mom had to leave the reptile room close to tears LOL (her fear of snakes)....and my dad, he just didn't see the fun in looking at (and smelling) animals. But the birds were SO neat and beautiful & the place itself was pretty big. We saw macaws, bats, owls, lizards, a kookaburra (and to think, I ALWAYS thought that was a type of bear!), a terrapin (go terps) and even a tarantula (just like the one in that brady bunch episode!). Maya had so much fun running around and discovering..apparently, this is the largest free-flying aviary in the world. Maya was SO brave too! She held a baby alligator without a flinch and was part of our trio to hold a Burmese python! His tail tickled my legs and his tongue was trying to lick Maya's arm (I think he did lick Radha though). Maya got to pet him (she said he was soft) and this other lizard. She even posed with one reptile named Maya! Seeing the second half of our travelling group's reaction to the python pic was almost better than holding it ourselves! The two birds behind Radha may look pretty and harmless, but let me tell you....those bad boys were INTIMIDATING!!! Their sign said do not approach, not tame. And they really would not leave our path, but we braved it up and snuck past them : )

That night we walked through the Clifton Hills area and got to ride the Sky Wheel ferris wheel as it got dark & everything started to light up. We ate dinner at an Indian rest. and stayed out a little later than expected (Maya was a trooper).

Inside one of the little cages...on our last day, we all went to see an IMAX movie about Niagara. I think Maya and my mom enjoyed it the most, with Radha coming in second. We drove through customs (this time with a little glitch. shocker. but my dad's 'radioactivity' set off the detectors) and went to Buffalo where we saw a famous Frank Lloyd Wright house and ate at the MOST delicious pizza place EVER (they had soy cheese pizzas, baked fries, and curried nachos. Need I say more?)...we all eventually made it home that night to our familiar beds. After re-cooping Saturday, we got to spend a wonderful Easter afternoon at the Classons. Radha and Bobby couldn't come, but Kevin was able to make it. The food was delicious (as always), we played some games, caught up, and Maya enjoyed her egg hunt Grandma arranged for her...and sadly that rounds it out. Tomorrow I officially go back to work. On the bright side though...only 65 days or so to go!
